March held in St. Martinville in honor of Martin Luther King, Jr.

A march was held today in St. Martinville in honor of Martin Luther King, Jr.

The march was entitled "Let the Church Say Amen" and will begin at 11 a.m.

The march started at the CashSaver parking lot and ended at Clambeaugh's restaurant. Transportation was be available to bring people back to CashSaver.

Mark Pratt, one of the organizers of the event, said that the purpose of the march was to reevaluate and rekindle the community in light of the protections that the founding fathers established through the amendments of the Constitution.

The public was invited to attend the march.

Organizers said the event "represents unity, the city coming together...being very diverse and just moving forward, moving the city forward in a better direction."
