Deputies with the St. Martin Parish Sheriff's Office have arrested a Catahoula man on charges of Attempted Manslaughter, among other charges.
According to a release from the Sheriff's Office, deputies responded to a disturbance call at a residence in the 1000 block of Rita Hwy in Catahoula. Deputies learned that an altercation took place, during which a male subject sustained facial injuries after he was struck repeatedly with a firearm.
Deputies learned during the investigation that the suspect, identified as Jake Savoy, 34, also attempted several times to shoot the male subject.

Savoy was arrested on one charge each of Attempted Manslaughter, Aggravated Battery, Violation of Protective Order, Convicted Felon in Possession of a Firearm, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
He was booked into the St. Martin Parish Correctional Center on the above charges. His bond was set at $70,000.
The investigation is ongoing.
