Families can ring in the holiday season at Le Vieux Village in Opelousas.
The village was officially lit for the season tonight; the event was emceed by KATC's own Marcelle Fontenot.
Presented by City of Opelousas, along with support from local businesses, the official lighting of the historic village has been a favorite holiday activity of both children and adults. Attendees can watch the historic village illuminate with holiday lights with the official pulling of the switch which will lead up to the arrival of Santa Claus.
The lighting offered a variety of activities for children, including a petting zoo, train rides, an ornament making station, and more.
