Two alternative programs that have been closed this week will now be closed through Friday, January 24, 2020.

The St. Landry Parish School System announced that students that attend CAPS and the St. Landry Virtual School at SLATS will be out of school through the end of the week.

Students in these programs have been out of school since Tuesday.

The closure is in connection to a cyber attack in St. Landry Parish last week that shut down the school system's computers and network. Classes at CAPS and SLATS are made up of online content and the cyber attack left the programs without connectivity on their campuses.

Officials said the website was back up for mobile users but work is still being done to get systems up and running at full capacity.
