Parents and alumni of Beau Chene High School spoke up today, July 30, at the St. Landry Parish School Board meeting. The group discussed what they think needs to be done to save the school.

Alumni, faculty, parents, and students met to create a list of issues they believe need to be addressed.

Tensions have been high since last fall, when the marching band and color guard were cut from the school's extracurricular programs.

Last week, feelings of uncertainty grew when the school's football coach and athletic director resigned.

These events started the "Save Beau Chene" committee; a developing committee dedicating to finding solutions to growing problems.

The meeting took place at the Prairie Volunteer Fire Station in Arnaudville.
