The Opelousas Downtown Development District is preparing a master plan that will outline how the area will look and feel in the next few years.
Tonight, at the Opelousas Civic Center, parish residents gathered to give their input.
A series of meetings will be held so more people will be able to weigh in and contribute their own ideas.
"This is a partnership with the Downtown Development District, Opelousas Main Street, Economic Development, the City of Opelousas, this is a lot of people and a lot of groups coming together to look at the future of downtown Opelousas and how it can grow," explained St. Landry Economic Development CEO Bill Rodier.
