An Opelousas man is being accused of strangling his son, which later resulted in his son's death.
On Sunday, October 27, around 8 p.m., Opelousas Police were called to 640 E. Blanchard St. to investigate a disturbance between a father, Reginald Jackson, 57, and his son, Brandon Leday, 40.
Police say on Sunday night, Leday went to his father's home on Blanchard St. While at the residence, the two became involved in a heated argument that at some point resulted in a physical altercation.
During the altercation, Leday became unconscious after allegedly being choked by Jackson.
At one point, Jackson contacted the police to request assistance. Leday was transported to a local hospital, where he remained on life support until October 31, when he succumbed to his injuries.
