The St. Landry School Board approved tonight a contract for a new French immersion school in the parish.
According to the Académie Franco-Louisianaise de Sunset's Facebook page, the board approved the contract at tonight's meeting. The approval means the school can move ahead and plans on opening in August 2020.
It would be located in the old Sunset High School building.
The school added in their post that "things will be moving quickly" in the coming months and for residents to keep an eye on their page for updates, including an official website and information on how to apply
