At the St. Landry Parish Visitor's Center in Opelousas today, musicians of all skill levels got a chance to display their talents in the Zydeco Capital Jam.
It also gave local artists a rare opportunity to meet and perform with a zydeco legend - Geno Delafose.
"St. Landry Parish is the home of Zydeco music, so just to celebrate that, the second Saturday of every month we celebrate with a live jam session," said Herman Fuselier, Executive Director of the St. Landry Parish Tourist Commission. "Today has been a pleasure to have Geno Delafose. Geno is loved all over the world...HE keeps it traditional and everybody loves the music that he plays."
