The Scott Fire Department responded to a report of a gasoline spill at the Chevron/McDonalds on the I-10 Frontage Road on Wednesday morning, according to a post on the department's Facebook page.
Police were called at 7 a.m. and discovered that an unknown person had spilled several gallons of gasoline at an unattended pump and then left the scene.
Firefighters secured the area and requested Lafayette Haz-Mat to respond.
When Lafayette Haz-Mat arrived, they applied a liquid material that breaks down gasoline, so it could be safely diluted and washed away.
Authorities gave no further information on the incident.
