Sacred Heart of Jesus in Broussard will be having Mass in St. Julien Park again this Sunday, May 10.

Executive Director Alex Clement said the celebration held last weekend was so successful that the City of Broussard is allowing the church to once again have Mass in the park.

Mass will be held at 8:30 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. at 701 St. Nazaire Road in Broussard, which is the St. Julian Sports Complex.

Social distancing guidelines will be enforced and everyone three years and older will be required to wear a face mask. Organizers also ask attendees to bring hand sanitizer, blankets/chairs, hats, and water.

Although Mass will be said publicly, by order of the Bishop of Lafayette parishioners are still dispensed from their Sunday obligation. Those who are ill (fever, cough, shortness of breath, chills, loss of taste/smell, etc), those 65 years of age and older, and those with pre-existing health conditions should not and are not obligated to attend Mass.

For those who are unable to make it, the 11:00 a.m. service will be streamed online at shbroussard.org/live or on the church's Facebook page.
