Phase one of the Apollo Road extension is now open to traffic. A ribbon cutting ceremony was held Friday morning at 9 a.m., when the road officially opened, to celebrate.
Phases two and three of the project are expected to begin later this year and will take a year and a half to complete.
These phases will further extend the road southward to the intersection of Dulles Drive and Rue du Belier, where a roundabout will be added.
Friday's ribbon cutting took place at the intersection of Old Spanish Trail and the new Apollo Road extension.
