The Patriot Tour began its journey through Louisiana today.

The Tour is a 110-day journey that transports the American Flag 14,500 miles through all 48 continental states via a city-to-city motorcycle relay. The organization is entirely handled by volunteers.

The organization, the Nation of Patriots, places 100 percent of funds raised through the tour and other initiatives directly into the hands of veterans in need.

The Patriot Tour made a stop at the Cajun Harley-Davidson on I-10 South Frontage Road in Scott at 4:30 on Thursday, July 25.

After a flag transfer ceremony this evening, flag bearer Lynn Stafford will lead the flag and its rider escort group to Baton Rouge on Friday, July 26.

Donations to the Nation of Patriots can be made at any of the tour stops, online at nationofpatriots.org, or by mail to:

The tour began in Beaver Dam, Wisconsin on May 18 and has traveled all over the country before arriving in Louisiana. The tour will also end in Beaver Dam on September 7, where the flag will be retired during a closing ceremony.
