In Scott, a new freestanding emergency room is now open.
Our Lady of Lourdes held a grand opening for the new facility today.
Located just north of I-10 in Scott, the building will be open 24 hours a day, seven days a week and offer the same level of emergency care as the main Lourdes campus.
This is the fourth emergency room in the Our Lady of Lourdes network.
Emergency medicine physician Michael Odinet explained, "What our goals were at the time was to try to reach farther to the west and provide emergency care, so this is not an urgent care clinic, but a true emergency department. Any emergency that you would go to a regular hospital, this would be something that you could come here and be seen."
