Nouvelle Church of Lafayette hosted a community-wide Picnic in the Park today from 11 a.m. - 2 p.m. in Girard Park. Free food, fun jumps, and games were available for all attendees.
"This is an annual gift to the community for us. We invite families and individuals of the Lafayette community and surrounding areas to join us for an enjoyable time of family fun." Pastor Dale Hoffpauir said.
There were giveaways during the event as well.
Music minister Nick Myers explained what he hopes will come of the event.
"I'm really hoping that people can come here and actually just really experience the love of God here and experience the fact that our church really loves on the lost and the hurting."
