The Northgate Mall is looking more festive this holiday season as businesses are inviting the community to celebrate Christmas with them.

There will be events leading up until christmas happening every weekend. Store fronts like Lo's Boutique are covered in Christmas decoration as they countdown to Christmas day. Businesses at the Northgate Mall "decking the halls" filled with holiday decor.

"Just getting into the spirit of Christmas," Dr. Louella Cook said. Cooke, who has a business inside the mall, says the decor is more than just a prop.

"We trying to bring the festivities back to the Northgate Mall and of course, have the community come to see what the 30 businesses have to offer at the mall," Cooke said.

Throughout December you can expect weekly events featuring Christmas carolers, toy giveaways, and Saint Nick himself.

"We have schools that will be coming in to sing Christmas carols. We have churches that will be coming in as well, " Cooke said. "The family will get together with their children and enjoy the spirit of Christmas and will have opportunity to see them perform. The churches will get together and support the fact that we are trying to revitalize this area."

By gifting the community with the festivities, businesses are hoping it's a gift that keeps on giving.

"We just need more foot traffic," Cooke said. "Need more people to know that we are here and we do have awesome products. What we're trying to do is to encourage people to come into the mall and see what we have."
