With the holiday shopping season just over a week away, some are hoping a new business will breathe new life into the Acadiana Mall.
It's a sight that's turning heads in the mall - a new H&M store that is set to open on Thursday.
Covering a large stretch of the mall, the 16,000 square-foot store is bringing excitement to shoppers.
"I love the look and size of it," said one shopper.
Another explained, "The layout is really nice. They have a lot of style and different variety of clothing. I know a lot of people will be excited about that as well."
But it's not just good news for shoppers - it's also good for the city's economy.
Officials with the Lafayette Convention and Visitor's Commission says it's keeping up with the growth of the city.
"I think it would be good for the economy, any new kind of job is good. It's exciting...really looking forward to what this new store will bring to the mall."
