Lafayette High is getting ready to begin three new construction projects on campus.
The projects include a practice field for football and band, a football pavilion, and a bus lane.
Funding for the projects is coming from the Capital Improvements Fund.
The first phase of the project is set to begin in six months.
Chief Administrative Officer for LPSS Jennifer Gardner says the work will make a big impact.
"I know this seems like little projects, but they make a huge impact. From driveways, to pavilions, to cafeteria updates...those little things make a huge impact. Whereas you might not be able to build a new building at the time, but there are still things you can do on the grounds that benefit the children and that's what it's about."
