The NAACP hosted their annual Freedom Fund Luncheon today at the Harambee Banquet and Event Center in Lafayette.
The event was held at 11:30 this morning.
Ms. Consuela Gaines was the keynote speaker at the event. Ms. Gaines is the Lafayette organizer for V.O.T.E., Voices of the Experience.
"I was chosen to be the keybnote speaker at the NAACP freedom luncheon and the topic will be centered around freedom...being that I'm a formerly incarcerated person, I'll be bale to speak to that," said Ms. Gaines.
