Lafayette Police are currently searching for a suspect involved in a carjacking in Lafayette.

Police say the carjacking took place at Pinhook and the Evangeline Thruway. Officers later spotted the vehicle at Ambassador and Kaliste Saloom, at which time the suspect abandoned the vehicle in a parking lot. When police tried to stop the suspect, he ran.
When police searched the stolen vehicle, property was found from a separate residential burglary also in Lafayette.
There is no suspect information as of now and the victim in this incident was not injured.
