Online Applicaon Process Applicaons for the Lafayee Parish School System (LPSS) Pre-K Program along with other Lafayette Parish Early Childhood Programs are now open and available online at www.enrolllafayee.com .

Other programs of the Early Childhood Network serve children ages 6 weeks to 4 years old and include: Early Head Start, Head Start, Nonpublic Schools of Early Childhood Development (NSECD), and Type III Early Learning Centers (Child Care Centers) of the Lafayette Parish Early Childhood Community Network.

“By using one coordinated application, parents can easily access all early childhood services in Lafayette parish - ensuring that more families can find quality care and education for their children and more children have the opportunity to experience high quality interactions and learning,” says Emmy Thibodeaux, early childhood network coordinator for the Lafayette Parish Early Childhood Community Network.

The research is clear - ninety percent of brain development happens before the age of five. In addition, two out of three Louisiana families have both parents working. Louisiana must provide quality early childhood experiences to ensure families have the supports they need. The fastest way to do this is for local communities to develop local solutions that reflect their unique needs. This is the purpose of the Early Childhood Community Network which is prepared to meet those needs, an LPSS release states.

“In order to be considered eligible for a seat in the LPSS Pre-K 4 Program, parents must apply online. The online system allows parents to choose two additional early learning options outside of the school system. Parents receive all notifications via email and on their parent dashboard within the website.” says Christine Duay, director of early childhood with the Lafayette Parish School System.

All network program partners listed on this website have committed to working together to improve the quality care and education of all children birth to age five in Lafayette Parish. Applications are accepted year round. However, the first round of placement begins on April 30, 2020. To learn more about the multitude of program offerings, visit www.enrolllafayette.com .
