Lafayette Police are investigating a shooting in the 1000 block of Vermilion Street off of Taft Street.
Spokeswoman Cpl. Bridgette Dugas said the shooting occurred at approximately 6:50 p.m. Dugas said one person had been found shot and is in critical condition.
Witnesses tell KATC that they heard gunshots and what they heard was a car speeding away. At this time, police have very little details, but there were many evidence markers on scene.
There is no suspect information at this time.
