Lafayette Mayor-President Elect Josh Guillory has announced that he intends to make leadership changes in at least three primary positions within LCG.
In a press release sent out Thursday evening, Guillory said he "plans to make changes to the Department leadership of the Lafayette Police Department, Community Development, and Public Works."
The Daily Advertiser is reporting that Guillory is asking Police Chief Toby Aguillard to resign. It is reported that Aguillard denied that request.
The release also states Guillory "anticipates major changes in Public Works" and believes fresh leadership is vital to the Department's effectiveness.
New leadership will be announced prior to Guillory taking office, but personnel changes are not effective until January 6, when Guillory is sworn in as Mayor-President.
