Members of the community came together at the Northgate Mall for a Park and Pray service Thursday evening.
Clergy led the event by praying for the community, and guests remained in their cars to follow social distancing orders.
The event organizer says she is already planning a similar event for those in Iberia Parish.
"I just wanted to kind of come out in the community and join as one especially on this north side, since its affected the African American community. I called up my family out of the iberia parish community and we decided to host another park and pray since the first one had been so successful," explained Rose Jefferson Viltz.
