Avanti Senior Living in Lafayette hosted a senior parade for residents on Thursday, hoping to spread a little happiness.
Families made signs displaying love and sweet messages for their loved ones at the facility. Local police also took part in the parade.
Because of orders to close assissted living facilities to the public, managers wanted to bring the outside world to the residents.
"Families and residents tend to get lonely and lonesome, so we are desparately trying to make sure our residents see and feel love from their loved ones and vice versa," explained Avanti's Engagement Coordinator Hope Lecompte.
