Jeff Davis Parish Sheriff's Deputies have arrested a Welsh woman for theft of a firearm.
According to police, deputies were called to a home on N. Frontage Road in Jennings on Tuesday in reference to a stolen firearm.
The firearm was taken by a juvenile who had been asked to locate a handgun on Friday, December 6, by his aunt.
Detectives located a text message that the juvenile had received, asking him if he could get a .45 caliber pistol.
The text came from the juvenile's aunt, Kay Lynn Simon, 38, of Welsh.
Simon was arrested and booked for Principal to Theft of a Firearm, Illegal Possession of Stolen Firearms, Contributing to the Deliquency of a Juvenile, and Obstruction of Justice.
