The Sugar Cane Festival will now be held in Downtown New Iberia.
Officials with the festival confirmed today that the carnival will be moved downtown, near the Steamboat Warehouse Pavillion where the festival's fais do dos have been held for several years.
This year's festival is set for September 26 through 29. For more info, visit the festival website here.
"Due to popular public demand we are bringing both the street fair together with the fais do do, much like it was back in the 70's in the good old days at City Park with the jambalaya on the bayou and the street fair in one location," said Lisa Lourd, media chair for the festival association.
