It's been in the works for a few years now and Belle Place Elementary finally opened up to students Friday.

Students came from Dodson and North Lewis Elementary, and most of the faculty transferred from Dodson as well.

"We worked extra hard this summer to unpack and get everything set up," says Principal Angie Louviere. And while faculty spent the whole summer preparing, the school is brand new to students.

"I feel is going to be a big change, and its going to be a good change," says fifth grader Ayden Hebert. Ayden transferred from Dodson, which closed early in the summer. He says Belle Place Elementary has all the good from his old school with some shiny new features that he and his peers are excited about.

"It's the same staff so I get the same teachers because its just a move to a new school. its bigger, its better," says Hebert.

Multiple computer labs, advanced security and interactive projection boards are just a few elements that will enhance the learning environment giving students all they'll need to accomplish their goals.

"Its a new start for everyone, for teachers and students. parents, everyone. its full of possibilities. its full of promise, and all we need is everyone to commit to achieving the best," says Principal Louviere.
