The New Iberia Gumbo Cookoff kicked off on Saturday and will run through Sunday.

This year, the cookoff is celebrating 30 years and organizers are commemorating the special year with the theme "lights, camera, gumbo!"

Live music from artists including L.A. Roxx, Chubby Carrier, and Geno Delafose will pair well with any type of gumbo.

The event is free and open to the public, and there will be samples of many types of gumbo.

New additions to the event include the "T-Rex" Gumbotron, a 25-foot tall screen that will display messages from supporters, live footage, an interactive social media wall, cooking demonstrations, and brand new live interviews.

There will also be the Roux Run, a youth gumbo competition, a "Meanest Beans" competition, and Cajun Creole Foodfest.

No ice chests or pets are allowed.

There will be a large selection of food to sample on Saturday and over 100 types of gumbo to try on Sunday.
