A 12-year-old in New Iberia is hoping to brighten other people's day through surprise gifts.
Lamarianna Sampy created the Facebook group Kids Surprising Kids in New Iberia.
The group is a way for families to exchange information with each other to send special surprises to children in the community.
Sampy said she knows how it feels to get help from the community during hard times, and now she wants to share that same generosity.
"I think this would brighten and light up their day, and they can go and help other kids and pass it on and make it bigger in the community," said Sampy.
