Iberia Parish Sheriff's Deputies have arrested one man for homicide.
According to spokesperson Major Wendell Raborn, deputies responded to a home in the 2600 block of Phyllis Drive in reference to an "unattended death."
Deputies found the death to be suspicious and called in investigators.
After an autopsy, it was determined that the death was a homicide.
Detectives arrested 45-year-old Marlon Vallian, who was the boyfriend of the victim, 45-year-old Antonia August.
Marlon Vallian was booked into the Iberia Parish Jail on Obstruction of Justice and Second Degree Murder.
