A bus has driven into a ditch in New Iberia between the Coteau and Jefferson Island exits along Hwy 90.
A viewer submitted photos of the bus and said that it was carrying several passengers.
The Louisiana State Police stated that the bus was leaving a private parking lot and did not crash from the road.
Acadian Ambulance was on the scene and confirmed to KATC that there were 12 passengers in the bus and that eight of them had been transported for minor injuries near Frontage Road.
Lt. Robert Moore, a public information officer with the Iberia Parish Sheriff's Office confirmed that deputies responded to a bus that was stuck in a ditch, but that there was no vehicle accident.
Moore stated that the bus had pulled into a parking lot on private property and while it was backing up, the driver's foot slipped and the vehicle slid into a flooded ditch.
