Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s deputies are investigating the death of an Iowa man.
At about 8 p.m. Sunday, deputies were called to the area of Manchester Road and McCown Road in Iowa. Witnesses said a man was hit by a truck while he was walking in the middle of the road.
The pedestrian, Marcus K. Mallet, 37, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The fatality is still under investigation.
In accordance with Louisiana state law, standard toxicology testing will be performed on both the driver and the pedestrian.
