The Coast Guard medevaced a 54-year-old man from a fishing boat near Cameron Monday morning.
Coast Guard Sector Houston-Galveston watchstanders received a request from the fishing vessel Sea Horse stating that a passenger was in need of medical assistance. Watchstanders consulted with the duty flight surgeon who recommended the medevac.
A Station Lake Charles Response Boat-Medium boat crew was launched to the scene, about eight miles from Cameron, and transported the mariner to awaiting emergency medical services personnel at the Calcasieu River ferry dock.
Weather on-scene was reported as 3-foot seas and 10 mph winds.
