The Calcasieu Parish Sheriff's Office is investigating an early morning homicide that left one person dead.
Police say deputies were patrolling the area of Brentwood in Lake Charles around 1 a.m. Saturday morning when they heard gunshots.
After further investigation, deputies located a victim with an apparent gunshot wound. He was transported to a local hospital, where he later died.
The victim has been identified as 24-year-old Brackus Guillory of Lake Charles.
The investigation is still ongoing and the Calcasieu Coroner will determine cause of death.
