At South Crowley Elementary, a Student of the Month Award ceremony was held Friday, along with a Black History Program.
Staff members say students truly care about helping each other, setting goals, and showing initiative.
Suzette Breaux, a Paraprofessional at SCE, explained, "Our kids really do care about each other. There's other people and other things that they can help and we just think it's really special that they're doing this on their own. You don't really have to tell them or teach them to do that. They have really good hearts.
