The Church Point Police Department reports responding to a call of a shooting on N. Martin Luther King Dr. in Church Point.
When officers arrived, they learned the victim had been transported to the Acadia St. Landry Hospital by a neighbor. The alleged suspect was no longer at the location.
After investigating, officers learned that the victim was a female juvenile who was accidentally shot by her 13-year-old brother.
The juvenile was shot in the right lower arm. The female was treated and released with non life threatening injuries.
The juveniles were reportedly at a friend's home when the incident occurred.
