An Acadia Parish Candidate Forum will be held on Wednesday, September 11 at the Grand Opera House of the South in Downtown Crowley.

Candidates for State Senator 25th District, Acadia Parish Clerk of Court, and Police Juror Districts 1 through 7 will address audience members and answer questions during the forum. The doors open at 5:30 pm and the event begins at 6:00 pm.

A social for candidates and Chamber members will be held at 5:00 pm.

The following are guidelines from the Acadia Parish Chamber of Commerce on how the forum will be conducted.

"State Senator Candidates will be given two minutes to make opening statements, followed by two questions each with two-minute responses with a two-minute closing statement. Candidates for Acadia Parish Police Jury and Acadia Parish Clerk of Court who are seeking a contested seat will be allowed two minutes to address the audience. For State Senator candidates, numbers will be drawn to determine the order in which opening remarks will be given and questions will be selected at random. Police Jury Candidates will be recognized in the order of district, and then in alphabetical order. Acadia Parish Clerk of Court Candidates will be recognized in alphabetical order. All candidates will be required to strictly adhere to the specified time limits."

The forum is free and open to the public.

The Chamber says that members of the Legislative Committee are seeking input from residents of Acadia Parish on questions that will be used during the forum. Those wishing to add their input can do so by contacting the Chamber with any questions and concerns.

Anyone wishing to submit a question or topic to be addressed is encouraged to email the Chamber at info@AcadiaParishChamber.org or mail them to Candidate Forums, P.O. Box 2125, Crowley, LA 7052
