Lake Charles Police Department reports a high speed chase through neighborhoods that ended with injury on Saturday morning.

At 8:15 a.m. Saturday morning, Lake Charles police say they were speaking to a person who was filing a stolen vehicle report. Officers sent out a description of the stolen vehicle and it was soon located. When officers found and attempted to stop the vehicle, a pursuit started.

Police say the pursuit went through several neighborhoods and at one point the driver of the vehicle, a 2007 Ford F150, hit another parked vehicle. The driver did not stop.

The pursuit continued until the F150 struck a Chevrolet Trailblazer that was traveling southbound down Broad St.

The impact caused the truck to hit a telephone pole and a building.

31-year-old Michael Lewis Jr. was arrested and charged with Motor Vehicle Theft, Aggravated Flight from an Officer, Hit and Run, Vehicle Negligent Injuring, and No Driver's License. A toxicology report is pending.

The driver of the Chevrolet Trailblazer is listed in critical condition.
