It's a late summer heat wave as we move through the first week of September, even with the dry air it's going to be a hot stretch of days.
The highs over the next couple of days will be sitting well in the upper 90s, in fact it might be one of the hottest (if not the hottest) stretch of days we've had all summer.
While it's a small comfort that we won't have some of the worst humidity Louisiana can dial up, the heat index will still be running in the triple digits.
Skies will stay clear so we won't get much luck with clouds parking in front of the sun at all in the afternoon, and rain chances will remain at zero.
There's not a whole lot of change expected over the next couple of days so buckle up for a hot, sunny forecast.
