LAFAYETTE, La. — A well-known Acadiana musician is receiving support from the community.

Lee Allen Zeno was diagnosed with bone marrow cancer in October.

On Sunday, a benefit was held for Zeno at the Acadiana Center of the Arts to raise money to help with his medical expenses.

Dozens showed up at the AcA for Zeno Fest to support their friend.

Among them were several musicians who have played with Zeno over the years from Roddie Romero to Wayne Toups.

Zeno Fest was put on by Blue Monday Mission, which is an organization that provides life care services for artists.

"Right now, I'm riding on top of the world, and I'm very happy right now,” said Zeno. “To see all the love and genuine... It's amazing."

The event raised about $8,000.

All proceeds will go directly to Zeno as he receives treatment.
