Youngsville Sports Complex hosting Mustang World Series

The Youngsville Sports Complex is hosting the PONY Mustang World Series from August 2-5, 2019.

The host team for the tournament is the Youngsville 10U All Stars. All eight teams will be competing for the title of 2019 PONY Mustang World Series Champion.

International teams from the Philippines, Dominican Republic, and Mexico will be attending, as well as teams from throughout the U.S.

The U.S. teams are from East Zone (Bronx, NY), West Zone (Placentia, CA), North Zone (Chicago, IL), and South Zone (Medina Valley, TX).

The opening ceremony will kick off the event on Friday, August 2, at 4:30 p.m. at the Lafayette General Health field. Games take place on Friday and Saturday at 6 p.m. and 8 p.m, Sunday at 10 a.m., 12 p.m., and 6 p.m. The games continue through Monday at 10 a.m.

The championship game will take place on Monday, August 5 at 6 p.m. at the Assurance Financial Field. This event marks the third World Series event in three weeks at the Youngsville Sports Complex.

This year, Coach Tony Robichaux is being remembered and honored in all World Series programs for his many contributions to the youth programs at YSC and the city of Youngsville. Coach Robichaux's twin brothers, Tim Robichaux, is also a baseball coach; he is currently Director of the Youngsville Sports Complex and has been since its inception in January of 2014.

Admission for the World Series is free to the public and souvenir programs will be sold for $5.
