A resource officer at Woodvale Elementary spread the love to students this Valentine's Day with homemade valentines and gifts.
Deputy Mike Menard with the Lafayette Parish Sheriff's Office gave out valentines to every student. A parent tells KATC that Deputy Mike even included special braille valentines for those students who have visual impairment.
Stuffed bears were also given to those students who can not eat candy.
"This is so above and beyond amazing, the amount of time and thought he put into including everyone!!" the parent said.
KATC met up with Deputy Menard this morning at Woodvale Elementary, where he said his goal was to make every student feel special.
"I did it because every house is different," said Menard, "Some kids may not have anything when they get home and I just wanted all of them to come to school and feel special."
