Woman treated for injuries in shooting on Harrison Street

A woman was treated for injuries sustained in a shooting on Harrison Street in Lafayette.

Lafayette Police say that on June 3, 2020 at around 3:00 am, officers responded to a disturbance involving a firearm in the 100 Block of Harrison Street.

Spokesperson for the police department, Sergeant Wayne Griffin says the victim was able to drive away from the scene and met officers at a nearby location. Once on scene, officers located the victim suffering from a single gunshot wound.

The victim was treated for a non-life threatening injury by medical personnel. Police say she was not transported to a local hospital.

The suspect fled the area prior to the officers arrival on scene.

An investigation is ongoing.
