On Sunday morning, State Senator Gerald Boudreaux and the Immaculate Heart of Mary Faith Community dedicated a memorial area to honor our neighbors, friends and family who have died from COVID-19.

During the ceremony, a field of white flags were unveiled and prayers were made for those who have died of the virus.

"Some people are visual learners and somebody who may not be a believer or may not think that this disease is real can be driving down the street one day and actually see all of these flags right here and think oh wow that is somebodies brother, sister, mom, dad, grandmother, grandfather," said organizer Stacy Conrad.

"We have you in prayer. We know it's difficult and it's not gonna go away the hurt, the pain, the suffering. It's something that's there but we want to tell them that we are with them and that we are going to continue to support them and that this entire community is behind them in their grieving and their loss," Boudreaux says.
