Today we caught up with Maid to Clean Vacuum Repair, Sales and Service today, because they're open.
The company started in 1973 as Emma Dee's Vacuum Cleaner Hospital, and was purchased by owner Samuel Pierre in 2013, he tells us.
Emma Dee and Roy Bell founded the business, and were family friends, Pierre says.
"Our company does cleaning, sanitizing, domestic and commercial equipment sales and service," Pierre says.
Maid to Clean sells and services all kinds of vacuum cleaners, he says, even "those brands you can't get at the big box stores, purchase or repair, we take care of it right here for you."
Pierre says the company has been doing a lot of repair for people more focused on cleaning and sanitizing during the pandemic. And, his own business operation has changed as well.
They've increased the supply of hand sanitizer, limit the number of customers in the store, practice social distancing and wear masks in the store, and they disinfect every machine that comes into the building, and wash their hands between customers.
"It's essential for our business to stay open because everyone needs their home and business to be clean," he says.
The company is open, as it has been for years, on East Simcoe Street.
