U.S. Military Veterans can now seek treatment at Victory Addiction Recovery Center in Lafayette.

The facility has been approved to accept VA benefits through the new Community Care Network, a release from Victory states. The CCN allows vets and the VA to visit providers that offer services outside the VA network.

“We are honored for the opportunity to work with our nations hero’s; the very men and women that have given so much for our country,” says Victory CEO Melanie Courville. “With today’s rising concern of substance use, our nations veterans are among those experiencing an overwhelming impact from this disease. Through our partnership with the VA CCN, this is our chance to help our veterans in their time of most need.”

Victory can address not only substance abuse, but also mental health issues that can accompany it, the release states.

The medical staff providing treatment services include two addictionologists, a medical doctor and psychiatrist, certified through the American Board of Addiction Medicine. Trauma and PTSD, can be contributing factors to using drugs or alcohol to selfmedicate or cope with these issues.

Victory Addiction Recovery Center Clinical Director Kerri Cunningham LCSW, LAC, leads a team of licensed and experienced counselors.

“Victory is committed to making sure we leave no one battling addiction behind. As a clinician and military wife, I can empathize with the strengths and struggles of these populations. Victory is committed the special needs of our veterans. We will fight this battle for those individuals and families who have fought for us,” explains Cunningham.

Victory Addiction Recovery Center, in operation since 2012, is a drug and alcohol treatment center located in Lafayette, owned and operated by Summit Behavioral Healthcare, LLC.

The company says Victory’s experienced, licensed clinical and medical staff is committed to full family recovery. Treatment is individualized, focusing on the mind, body and soul.
