Vermilionville hosts 'Ghosts on the Bayou' Halloween party

Guests over at Vermilionville were treated to a one-of-a-kind Halloween party this weekend.

Called "Ghosts on the Bayou," the inaugural party offered guests 21 years of age and older the chance to explore the museum after dark.

The event included a costume contest, food and drinks, storytellers throughout the village, and a few surprises. Organizers say it's an experience unique to Vermilionville.

"We feel like it's important to still be able to connect with our community. That's been so challenging with the pandemic, but with something like this we felt like it was a great way to really continue the part of our mission that deals with showing people a great time but also tying that culture and that folklore connection," explained Brady McKellar, director of museum operations at Vermilionville.
