Lafayette Police say they are now investigating the body found Friday as a homicide.
On Friday, Kao Wokoma, 36, of Lafayette was found by an LCG work crew clearing debris from a coulee near Hillside Drive.
The crew was cleaning a nearby coulee when they picked up what they believed was garbage and put it into a nearby dumpster. Shortly after, they realized something was wrong, discovered the body, and called 911, according to Sgt. Wayne Griffin, spokesperson for the Lafayette Police Department.
The investigation is continuing.
We'll have more on this story later today on KATC TV3.
