The University of Louisiana at Lafayette will be closed Friday, July 12, due to the threat of potential flooding in Acadiana from Tropical Storm Barry. All Friday classes are cancelled. Participants of activities scheduled on campus, including athletic and academic summer camps, will be contacted directly by their event coordinators.

All campus buildings will be closed except for Cypress Lake Dining Hall during dining hours.

As always, our highest priority is the safety and security of the UL Lafayette community and our Acadiana family. We encourage everyone to prepare their properties and stay indoors during severe weather.

We are monitoring the storm. For updates and emergency information, visit the University’s website, and check your University email account, text messages, and official University social media accounts.

UL Lafayette expects to re-open and resume classes on Monday, July 15.

StudentsUL Lafayette students who live in campus residence halls should remain there during the storm.

Cypress Lake Dining Room in the Student Union will operate during its regular hours. Should there be a change, UL Lafayette will instruct students via email and the Housing portal [u7061146.ct.sendgrid.net]. Questions can be directed to residence assistants. The University will ensure that students in residence halls have access to meals.

Students remaining on campus are encouraged to park their vehicles in the Girard Park Circle and Taft Street parking garages beginning today. All levels of the garages are available for parking at no charge this weekend. Students must move their vehicles before 7 a.m. on Monday, July 15.

The ACT scheduled to be administered on campus Saturday has been canceled. UL Lafayette will work with ACT and test-takers to reschedule for a later date. Students with questions about the test can contact ACT directly or log into their ACT Student Services Account.

EmployeesEmployees should not report to campus on Friday. Essential personnel should check with their supervisors to find out if they are needed on Friday or over the weekend.
